Expert IT Consultancy Services for Businesses

Not sure if your current IT setup is actually right for your business? Honestly, most people aren’t. That’s where IT consultancy comes in, and it’s exactly what Digit-IT offers — clear, independent advice, with no sales agenda hiding behind it.
Here’s the thing: most businesses don’t have a technology shortage. They’ve usually got plenty of kit. What’s missing is confidence that it’s the right kit, set up properly. An old server that’s still limping along. Software half the team doesn’t trust. A cloud migration that’s been “next month” for two years running. None of it feels urgent, until it quietly starts costing you.
We’ve been doing this for over twenty years now. No pushing products you don’t need, no jargon for the sake of sounding clever. Just people willing to explain their thinking and let you make your own call.
Areas We Cover
Why Choose Digit-IT for IT Consultancy Services?
A lot of IT consultancy comes with strings attached, whether anyone admits it or not. The advice tends to point conveniently toward whatever the consultant also happens to sell. We’d rather not work that way. Whoever ends up doing the actual implementation, our advice stays impartial from the start.
We’re family-run, and that shows in how we work. We’ll spend proper time understanding how your business actually runs before we suggest anything at all — sometimes that means picking apart your infrastructure, sometimes it’s a straightforward “yes, this is fine, leave it alone.” Either answer is useful.
No pressure, no needless complexity, no thirty-page report nobody will read. Just an honest steer on where your technology spend is genuinely earning its keep, and where it isn’t.
Why DIGIT-IT?
Unlimited support
How Our IT Consultancy Process Works?
We start with a free consultation, review your IT setup, build a clear roadmap, and support you from planning to implementation. No jargon, no hidden costs just honest expert advice tailored to your business.
- Discovery & Business Understanding
We start with a conversation, not a form. What are you trying to achieve? How does the team actually work day to day? What does your current setup really look like, beyond the diagram someone drew three years ago? We need the real picture before offering an opinion.
- Assessment & Analysis
Then we get into it properly — hardware, software, network, security, the processes nobody talks about but everyone relies on. This is usually where the useful stuff turns up: what’s quietly working fine, and what’s been holding things back without anyone quite noticing.
- Clear Recommendations & IT Roadmap
We turn all that into something you’d actually want to read. No dense technical document destined for a drawer. Just what needs doing, why it’s worth doing, and roughly what it’ll cost — so the decision’s genuinely yours to make.
- Ongoing support into implementation
Want us to carry it through? We can. Prefer to hand the roadmap to someone else? Also fine. The advice doesn’t change depending on who does the work afterwards.
FAQs
What's the actual difference between IT consultancy and IT support?
IT support keeps the day-to-day running — fixing things, maintaining systems. Consultancy is more of a step back: is the overall setup, strategy and spend actually right for where the business is going?
Do you only work with businesses that don't already have an IT provider?
Not at all. We’re often brought in purely for a second opinion, even where there’s already a provider in place — particularly around infrastructure reviews or cloud migrations.
How long does an engagement usually take?
Depends how much there is to look at. A quick review might be wrapped up in a couple of weeks. A full roadmap for a larger, more complex business takes longer. We’ll be upfront about timescales before starting.
Will you try to sell us specific software or hardware?
No. If a recommendation does involve buying something, we’ll explain plainly why it’s genuinely the right fit, not just the easiest option for us to sell.
Is this worth it if our IT needs are pretty basic?
Often, yes, actually. Even simple setups tend to have blind spots — old licences still being paid for, decisions made years ago and never revisited, that sort of thing. Worth a look either way.

Recently I had a pleasure of getting my faulty laptop repaired by Tony Stuart of Digit Computers Ltd. Tony delivers a service that is second to none. Throughout the process of initial telephone consultation, followed by face to face home visit and during the repair process I found Richard to be very professional, reliable and trustworthy. He always gave me good information and sound advise though out the repair process. In the end my faulty laptop delivered to me at home and was not only repaired but also upgraded to a better spec. The laptop is now working as good as new. I have been very happy the work Tony has done to my laptop and would recommend him to anybody who would like any IT work done.
